About ONLINE in general

After President Andrzej Duda signed the amendment to the Goods and Services Tax Act (Ustawa o podatku od towarów i usług) and the Measures Law (Prawo o miarach), previously passed by the Sejm, taxpayers gained the option — and in some cases the obligation — to purchase an ONLINE fiscal cash register or printer. The act came into force on 1 May 2019.

ONLINE cash registers and printers are fiscal devices with a function that allows them to transmit collected data directly and automatically to the Central Register of Cash Registers (Centralne Repozytorium Kas), which is overseen by the Ministry of Finance. The transmitted data includes, among other things, daily reports, fiscal receipts, and non-fiscal documents.

What do I need to do to switch to ONLINE?

Is there anything else I should know?

  • Your ONLINE fiscal device will regularly communicate with the CRK (Central Register of Cash Registers) to transmit receipts, daily reports, and other events, which requires a permanent internet connection. This can be Ethernet or Wi-Fi, but if you don't have internet access at your point of sale, you can buy a cash register with a GSM module. Still a problem? Get in touch with us and we'll find a solution together.
  • A lack of connection to the register does not block the operation of your ONLINE fiscal device, so don't worry about things like a temporary internet outage — however, if communication errors with the CRK become persistent, you will be notified of this.
  • You can, and even should, turn off your ONLINE cash register/printer overnight or whenever you're not using it for a longer period – a switched-off ONLINE fiscal device does not report errors.
  • You may also be interested in the tax relief available for purchasing an ONLINE fiscal device. If this is your first cash register/fiscal printer, or you belong to a group required to purchase such a device, you can apply for a relief of up to 90% of the device's net (excl.
