After President Andrzej Duda signed the amendment to the VAT Act (Ustawa o podatku od towarów i usług) and the Measures Act (Prawo o miarach), previously passed by the Sejm, taxpayers will have the option – and in some cases the obligation – to buy an ONLINE fiscal cash register or printer. The act came into force on 1 May 2019.

ONLINE cash registers and printers are fiscal devices equipped with a function that allows the data they collect to be transmitted – directly and automatically – to the Central Cash Register Repository (Centralne Repozytorium Kas), which is overseen by the Ministry of Finance. The data transmitted includes, among other things: daily reports, fiscal receipts and non-fiscal documents.
